OCF launches the first in a series of professional advisor briefings

Local solicitors, accountants and financial advisors are invited to a professional advisor briefing on efficient alternatives to private trusts and charities, on Thursday 2nd July. The briefing will include nibbles and drinks and the chance to chat informally with us about how we can help give excellent philanthropy advice.

A group of enthusiastic school children took part in an interactive workshop with author-illustrator Emily Gravett as part of the annual Maggie’s Day event at The Story Museum on Thursday. The day is a chance for Maggie Evans’ family and friends to remember her and to celebrate her love of books and stories.

Comic Relief funding supports Trax social enterprise with £30,000 grant

OCF has awarded a large grant to Trax, an Oxford-based charity that provides training opportunities and counselling to disadvantaged and disengaged young people. The group, which specialises in bike refurbishment, is using the grant to create a social enterprise model that will allow them to be self-sufficient.

The High Sheriff is buying some extra bottles of water in preparation for his Olympic Challenge at the Iffley Road Sports Ground on Thursday 17th July. The weather forecast is “HOT!”, so we’re expecting that by the end of the event some participants may look more exhausted than Roger Bannister did on that famous day 60 years ago!
