Oxfordshire Community Foundation thanks its supporters at a Summer Celebration event, showing gratitude to everyone who has given their time, skills or money over the last year to help OCF deliver its work and transform lives across the county.
The team at Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) were delighted to welcome Friends, Patrons, fundholders, donors and volunteers to the Courtyard by Marriot Hotel in Oxford to thank them for their continued support and commitment to OCF. The rooftop terrace proved to be the perfect venue thanks to the generous hospitality of the wonderful staff at the hotel who looked after us exceptionally well. Our guests were treated to drinks and nibbles on the terrace giving everyone spectacular panoramic views over Oxford’s patchwork of ancient and modern rooftops.
Zoe Sprigings, OCF’s CEO talked to guests about some of the highlights for OCF over the last year, including giving £2 million in grants, exceeding ambitions about the amount of money we brought into the county and administering 40 individual named funds. She went on to say that we also delivered a Funder’s Forum event to share best practice, brought together groups to learn about storytelling as a qualitative measure of impact and championed unrestricted funding and core costs for Oxfordshire’s grassroots charitable sector.
She shared: “It’s been wonderful to work with all these people who want to bring money into community groups in Oxfordshire.”
We were also delighted to hear from Monawar Hussain, OCF’s new Vice President and former trustee. who said: “We’re so fortunate to have such an important charity that does amazing work in our beautiful county. It transforms lives, it supports the most vulnerable people and the most disadvantaged communities. Thank you to everyone that enables this to happen.”
The sun blessed us with its presence and the rain thankfully held off, letting guests enjoy the surroundings, chat to one another and make new connections with the wider OCF community.
Our supporters play a vital role in helping us to deliver our work: Friends and Patrons commit to give regular unrestricted gifts to us, enabling us to deliver our value-added grant-making and donor-care services; our fundholders and donors entrust us to get their donations out to grassroots charities supporting the most pressing issues in the county; and our volunteers support our staff with their time and skills to effectively deliver our mission through roles such as trustees, grant assessors, panellists and sub-committees.
Thank you so much to all of our supporters – we couldn’t do it without you!
