The Didcot Powerhouse Fund celebrates its first two years! It has raised over £270,000, made 35 grants to local charities and community groups, and supported 2,880 local beneficiaries to date.
As we come to the end of 2023 we’d like to thank our volunteers, trustees, supporters, donors and wonderful local charities and organisations who continue to amaze and inspire us every day. OCF have awarded a number of grants totalling £263,528 to support charities and organisations continuing to respond to the increased cost of living by offering urgent support as well as building longer-term resilience.
The Community Capacity fund is open for a second round of grants, thanks to £325,000 from Oxfordshire County Council. Applications will open on 6th September for grassroots organisations throughout Oxfordshire to help support people with independence, resilience and addressing preventable conditions.
OCF is delighted to have partnered with local restauranteur Aziz Rahman to launch The Komorun Nessa Fund, in memory of his late mother. The fund will help projects that support families and friends of those experiencing mental health problems in east Oxford and beyond.
The Community Capacity fund will open again in September/October for another round of applications, with funding awarded by December. Thanks to Oxfordshire County Council there will be £325,000 to distribute to grassroots organisations throughout Oxfordshire.
The Lord-Lieutenant of Oxfordshire, Marjorie Glasgow BEM, has been welcomed as our new President in an online reception where she gave her inaugural speech to donors and supporters of OCF.
The results are in for the 2023 Foundation Practice Rating (FPR), and we are thrilled to announce that Oxfordshire Community Foundation has scored an overall ‘A’ rating alongside the Wellcome Trust, a score only achieved by 7 out of 100 foundations.
