Bridewell is a mental health recovery service providing social and therapeutic horticulture in a working garden to adults living in Oxfordshire. Their goal is to help people into jobs or voluntary roles out in the wider community.
We will launch a grants round in the autumn/winter to alleviate the cost of living crisis across the county. We are working with local charities and community organisations to help us direct funding where it is most needed.
OCF is seeking a Grants Officer for the effective delivery of grants to charities and community organisations in Oxfordshire. Through the distribution of grants and donations, we support groups working tirelessly alongside communities experiencing disadvantage and hardship to build resilience and create opportunities for growth.
The Step Change annual review celebrates the 12 months to April 2022, when four new infrastructure grants were made to the tune of over £208k, and project managers supported the ongoing implementation of 12 active projects.
During COVID-19, OCF was able to deliver huge impact to our community. Following this success, OCF is now looking to harness this impact, building a fundraising approach that ensures we can support as many charities and community groups as possible, as the county faces worsening economic and social challenges.
The new Oxfordshire Collective Business Fund is a way for local businesses to make a genuine difference to the communities in which they operate, by combining contributions in one fund from which grants are made annually to Oxfordshire charitable organisations.
Today OCF is opening two new grant funding opportunities: the COMF (Contain Outbreak Management Fund) grants from the county council; and Community Integration. Grants from £500 to £10,000 are available for running costs, project or capital expenses, or events.
OCF’s trustees took part in a workshop to strengthen our philanthropy development and donor care, run by OCF staff and kindly hosted by the University of Oxford’s Sociology Department.
Taking a more consultative approach to our grant-making is a key aim of 2022. In advance of our community integration grants round next month, we conducted a survey and workshop to listen to frontline organisations working with disadvantaged people.
