FinancialNewsOCFLaura Keen

After three years of sterling service, our current Finance Manager Laura Keen will be leaving us at the end of the year. This means we are seeking a replacement Finance Manager for a part-time role in central Oxford.

As OCF celebrates its most successful year yet, the need for good financial management has never been more important. In addition, our part-time Finance Manager Laura Keen has decided to dedicate herself full time to her increasingly demanding role at Milton Keynes Community Foundation, having provided her wealth of expertise to OCF for the past three years. We could not have achieved the successes we have seen without Laura, and want to ensure that our resources and internal processes continue to be ‘best of breed’ and keep pace with the increasing demands and expectations placed on the organisation.

We will therefore be seeking another like-minded, self-motivated and dedicated individual to join our small team based in central Oxford and develop our finance capabilities. This is a part-time role equivalent to a maximum of two days per week, although flexible working hours will be considered. We would like Laura’s replacement to have a thorough handover from her before she leaves us in December.

We are looking for an individual who will share our passion for philanthropy, and who will also believe that nothing is ever too much trouble, always looking for solutions to ensure we do whatever is needed to get things done. Highly flexible but incredibly organised, this person needs to be a confident and totally unflappable user of Sage, responsible for reconciling and recording all our financial transactions and producing our monthly management accounts and board reports.

Our ideal candidate embraces change and can adapt easily in an interesting, fast-paced and constantly evolving work environment, and responds enthusiastically to new opportunities – for example, undertaking research for any new projects or initiatives, or working up new financial models and scenarios to provide numbers for discussion and illustration.

This will be a varied role with the opportunity to gain a wide range of experience within the charity sector, and to contribute to a great legacy in Oxfordshire. If you would like to see more detail about the role, please have a look at the responsibilities of the finance role. We would welcome recommendations and referrals from our network, so if you know somebody who might be interested, please do pass this information on to them, or let us know about them.

Potential applicants should contact Jayne Woodley at jayne@oxfordshire.org for further information.
