We are taking part in the UK government’s Community First scheme. This scheme matches every pound given with a further 50p. Both donations and match funding go to a capital endowment fund that will continue to grow over time, giving us a sustainable pot of money that we can use for those in the local area who need it most.
Meech International was one of 18 companies that volunteered a team of five competitors for ‘The Olympic Challenge’, a specially organised sports day on 17 July to raise charitable funds for the Oxfordshire High Sheriff’s Challenge.

OCF grant recipient SpecialEffect have reached the finals of the BT-sponsored national Technology For Good Awards, in the accessibility section. SpecialEffect put fun and inclusion back into the lives of people with physical disabilities by helping them to play video games. In 2013 they received a £5,000 grant from OCF to purchase new games equipment.
Each year The Story Museum in Oxford run a special ‘Maggie’s Day’, in memory of Maggie Evans, which this year is happening on 8th July.
Martha Fernback was 15 years old when she died on 20th July 2013 after swallowing half a gram of MDMA powder (more widely known as ecstasy). Since then her mother Anne-Marie Cockburn has suggested that the criminalisation of drugs contributed to her death.
Charity Commission has provided a new endorsement for OCF, as we have now successfully met the standards for the UKCF Quality Accreditation. The endorsement is the Charity Commission’s recognition of the quality accreditation procedure that provides the network of 48 community foundations across the UK with an external veracity and trustworthiness.
