NewsOCFLaura Chapman, Lisa Compton, David Astor, Ann Buchanan

OCF welcomes Laura Chapman and Lisa Compton as trustees, who bring a huge amount of charity and financial management expertise to the foundation. We are also saying a heartfelt thank you to David Astor and Ann Buchanan, who have now left the OCF Board after many years of dedicated hard work.

Laura has been Chief Executive of the Freemasons’ Grand Charity for the past 16 years. During that time, she has overseen a grant-making programme with an annual expenditure of approximately £5m. In her earlier career, she headed up BT’s award-winning Community Affairs Programme, responsible for the evaluation and selection of economic development, social welfare and cultural projects. Laura has worked as a freelance consultant for Business in the Community and CSR activities, and in the evaluation of public policy initiatives primarily in urban regeneration and community development.

Lisa trained and qualified as an accountant in Oxford. As Finance Director Lisa has extensive experience in the leisure, property and construction sectors both in the UK and overseas, in high-growth and performance-turnaround businesses. Lisa has recently started to focus her energy on the charitable sector and is also a trustee for Root and Branch, an Oxfordshire mental health rehabilitation charity. Lisa is excited to be able to contribute to OCF and its drive to improve equality and opportunity for all across the county.

The trustees wish to acknowledge and recognise the contribution that both Ann, a trustee since 2007, and David, involved since 2011, have made over many years to OCF. In particular, Ann has used her experience as Emeritus Professor of Social Work at the University of Oxford to complete an impact analysis for OCF, which is the basis of ongoing research. Both David and Ann have generously supported OCF with personal financial contributions and helped to introduce many new donors and partners to the foundation throughout their time as trustees. All of this, as well as their wise voices at our Board meetings, have helped us significantly grow our success over the past few years.
