Through our grant funding and partnership working, we improve people’s lives across Oxfordshire. Here you will find details of our partnerships across our strategic programmes, plus some of our impact and success stories.
For each of our key strategic programmes, we will carry out significant consultation, research and relationship-building, and our plan is to develop a suite of priority projects that we believe will deliver a long-term difference to those we are seeking to help.
Homelessness – Everyone deserves a place to call home.
OCF is a founding member of Oxford Homeless Movement, which is a city-wide partnership aimed at reducing rough sleeping in Oxford. This includes homeless charities, housing providers, Oxford City Council, health providers, funding bodies, community-based organisations and businesses.
Educational inequality – Everyone deserves an opportunity to thrive.
OCF is leading the Growing Minds project, an innovative and ground-breaking initiative to improve school readiness in disadvantaged communities. The project uniquely combines tested interventions to multiply impact.
Loneliness and isolation – Everyone deserves a sense of belonging.
OCF is working with partners to deliver Age Friendly Banbury, which aims to make Banbury a great place to grow older. Local people are encouraged to influence the things that matter to them, such as improvements to the built environment or greater access to social and health activities.
As we develop our learning, and build evidence, we can expand and grow our programmes into new areas.
OCF has been a significant local grant maker since 1995, building credibility within the charitable sector and committing to key investments in local community initiatives. We have proven longevity and are an independent and trusted voice.
Charities and community groups in Oxfordshire carry out vital work addressing some of the most pressing social problems happening right on our doorsteps – in particular those revealed in our research report Oxfordshire Uncovered.
By collaborating with many different funding partners, and with the wonderful charitable organisations that are the beating heart of the county, we are able to celebrate many diverse achievements. Whether it’s getting somebody off the streets and into a pathway towards employment and housing, helping children at risk of sexual exploitation, or providing friendship and warmth into a lonely person’s life, the results in the case studies shared here speak for themselves.

The Porch is a day centre that supports homeless and vulnerably housed single adults tackle the multiple problems that are preventing them from moving towards stable housing and sustainable work. OCF made a £5,000 grant to The Porch for their ‘Steppin’ Forward’ initiative, which helps vulnerable people develop catering skills, giving them a realistic opportunity to find work.
