Changes in the Oxfordshire Community Foundation team, as we say goodbye to Olwen Lintern-Smyth and welcome Sarah Giles and Claire Kendall. Olwen came to OCF as the Project Manager for Getting Oxfordshire Online. Sarah Giles joined in September in a new role as Philanthropy Manager and Claire Kendall joined this month as our Administrator.

We sadly said farewell to Olwen, as she ended her time with OCF on a high, with the official launch and initial fundraiser for our digital inclusion initiative – Getting Oxfordshire Online. Find out how to support us to deliver a sustainable, long-term solution to the problem of digital exclusion, across Oxfordshire, on the brand new Getting Oxfordshire Online website. Here you an also watch and share the video of local school leads and community groups explaining why getting online locally is a need not a luxury. We wish Olwen lots of luck in her next project. Suzy Donald, our Education and Skills Project Manager, is now overseeing Getting Oxfordshire Online.

Sarah Giles joined us in mid September as Philanthropy Manager. Her role will focus on matching the local potential of individual and family philanthropic resources to the social issues identified by the community organisations working on the frontline in Oxfordshire. Sarah has worked in the charity sector for over 20 years and her various jobs – paid and voluntary – have taken her from Russia to Birmingham and back to Oxford since 2010.

Claire Kendall joined the team last week as our permanent Administrator. Claire had a career in HR at Law Firms in the City of London, before having a family and returning to live in Oxford in 2015. She sees working at OCF as an opportunity to impact the lives of people in her community positively.

Sarah and Claire complete the OCF team recruitment at the same time as our Board of Trustees officially welcomes their final two appointments with Wanja Knighton and Wendy Vrij.  See the full board here.

As the team gradually returns to the office more, we are looking forward to getting together in person, as well as continuing remotely with video meetings and webinars.
