The Amazon Powerhouse Community Fund will make grants to grassroots charitable organisations across southern Oxfordshire, supporting Amazon’s commitment to help foster communities in the areas in which it operates.
Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) today announced the launch of a new community benefit fund with Amazon to support charitable organisations across Abingdon, Didcot and Wallingford.
The Amazon Powerhouse Community Fund will award grants to charitable organisations across the area, which are working tirelessly at the heart of neighbourhoods to support local people. These groups will receive grants of up to £10,000 each to support their work within the target themes: creating local social impact, supporting Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education and skills development, and promoting environmental sustainability.
OCF’s CEO Zoe Sprigings says:
“Small charities are the linchpin of thriving communities. At a time of significant growth in Oxfordshire, we are delighted that Amazon also believes in the power of these small groups, and wants to invest in them to help communities benefit from the opportunities that innovation and technology bring.”
Ben Watson, Regional Data Centre Operations Leader, UK, for Amazon Web Services, said:
“At Amazon, we’re committed to investing in the communities where we operate, and that means backing the grassroots organisations working hardest at the heart of them. Together with Oxfordshire Community Foundation, we’re proud to play a small part in supporting communities across southern Oxfordshire, and make a lasting difference.”
The Amazon Powerhouse Community Fund will open for applications on Tuesday 1st December 2026, and close on Monday 11th January 2027. After applications are assessed by a local grants panel and financial due diligence is complete, grants from the fund will be paid by 31st March 2027. OCF has streamlined the application process to align with The Didcot Powerhouse Fund, which it also hosts, so that organisations eligible to apply to both funds only need to submit one application.
