Oxfordshire Community Foundation announces a new donor-advised fund to provide a decade of funding for charitable work that improves human health and wellbeing.
Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) today announced that Oxford PharmaGenesis, now part of the Klick Health family, has launched The Oxford PharmaGenesis Charitable Fund to continue its longstanding tradition of supporting local charities and communities.
The fund will provide both immediate and longer-term charitable support to communities in need in and around Oxfordshire over the course of the next decade.
In a bespoke approach designed to maximise impact, the £250,000 donation has been invested in an expendable endowment fund, which will allow it to grow by an estimated 132% over the next ten years, all whilst making grants of around £28,000 annually. By 2036, the fund is targeted to give over £300,000 in grants, with ongoing support from the team at OCF.
According to the foundation’s 2026 Oxfordshire Uncovered philanthropy report, around 1,500 people experience homelessness in Oxfordshire each year; 59% of the county’s adults are overweight or obese; and after housing costs, one in four children in Oxford lives in poverty.
The fund’s local impact is being kick-started with a grant of £15,000 to grassroots local charity Equilore. This charity offers life-changing equine-assisted therapy for children, young people and adults across Oxfordshire who find conventional mental health services inaccessible. Working alongside horses and in nature, people affected by trauma, neurodivergence and mental ill health can build trust, confidence and emotional wellbeing at their own pace. Equilore’s support has helped young people reconnect with learning, enabled vulnerable adults to stay out of hospital, and helped people facing crisis regain confidence, purpose and a sense of belonging within their communities.
A key feature of the fund in coming years will be the involvement of Oxford PharmaGenesis team members, who will be invited to help shape the fund’s grant-making priorities and decisions. This reflects the company’s well-established culture of staff-led giving, ensuring that colleagues feel connected to the causes supported by the fund.
Zoe Sprigings, Chief Executive at OCF, said:
“After getting to know Oxford PharmaGenesis over the last ten years, we are over the moon that they chose OCF to support their vision of improving health and wellbeing through funding local charities. It’s great to see a win-win situation where Oxford PharmaGenesis flourishes and enables local charities to flourish with them, making our county an even better place to live.”
Chris Winchester, Head of Scientific Affairs at Oxford PharmaGenesis, said:
“Oxfordshire is a county of contrasts and, outside the academic and tourist hotspots there are areas of real deprivation. The Oxford PharmaGenesis Charitable Fund reflects our commitment to giving back to the local community on whom we and our colleagues depend for our success.”
Richard White, President of HealthScience Communications at Oxford PharmaGenesis, said:
“We chose to partner with OCF because they really understand local needs, and have relationships with thousands of amazing grassroots charities making a difference at the heart of local neighbourhoods. We are excited to see the impact we can make together over the next ten years.”
The Oxford PharmaGenesis Charitable Fund joins a growing number of donor-advised funds held by OCF, each created to address the local charitable interests of the fundholder. OCF works with individuals, families and businesses to connect charitable giving with local causes, ensuring funds are managed effectively and deliver lasting impact.
