OCF is delighted to welcome Paul Donovan to our Board of Trustees, bringing a wealth of international business experience to the organisation. We also say farewell to our visiting trustee Olivia Tomlin.
Paul has just joined the Board, having worked with OCF as a donor and supporter for the past year. Paul’s early career was with Mars and Coca-Cola and Schweppes, before entering the tech sector in senior roles at Apple Computer, BT and Cable and Wireless.
He was a member of the Vodafone Group Executive Committee from 2004 to 2009, where he was Regional CEO, and CEO of Eir, Ireland’s leading telecommunications company, from 2009 to 2012. In 2014 Paul became Chief Executive Officer of Odeon and UCI Cinemas Group, stepping down in 2016 following the successful sale of the company.
He is currently a director of Arqiva Group, CEO of Parktown Consulting, a Companion of the Chartered Institute of Management and holds an honorary doctorate from the University of Bradford. He is also Commercial Fellow and advisor at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, where until recently he was COO. He has lived in Oxfordshire since 2004.
Paul is keen to help drive OCF’s strategy, and contribute to our digital awareness-raising.
We would also like to thank Olivia Tomlin from the Oxford Hub Young Trustee Programme, who has completed her year as a visiting trustee at OCF. She is now working towards her third year reading Classics at Merton College, Oxford. Olivia has provided some great insight at OCF’s Board meetings during 2018, bringing a different and valuable perspective. Following this positive experience we hope to take part in the Young Trustees Programme again in 2019.
