We celebrate our 21st birthday in 2016. As OCF comes of age, we want to build strong collaborations with partners who will be able to help us make an even bigger difference to Oxfordshire’s most vulnerable. Our event at the historic Broughton Castle will be the chance to hear from us and from eminent philosopher A.C.Grayling about the role of philanthropy in Oxfordshire today.
OCF will be using the event on Saturday 18th June as an opportunity to learn from others, and to share our ideas and plans during an afternoon of thought-provoking conversation over a private banquet. Guests will have the chance to enjoy the spectacular surroundings of Broughton Castle, home of the Fiennes family since 1377. The day will culminate in a keynote speech by A.C.Grayling.
OCF have the privilege and good fortune of being generously supported by Martin Fiennes, the family owner of Broughton Castle, which has been used as a film set for many different productions, including Wolf Hall, Jane Eyre and Shakespeare in Love. Martin and the family will be offering private tours of their home in the afternoon.
Our celebration will take the following format:
- Coffee and thought-provoking presentations by experts with knowledge of the local landscape of social needs, as well as talks by OCF on our ambitions and direction (late morning start in a marquee, followed by drinks reception)
- Three-course lunch in the stunning Great Hall, with an inspiring keynote by renowned philosopher A.C.Grayling
- Optional tours of the house by the family and/or stewards of Broughton in the afternoon (and guests are free to roam the beautiful grounds
We hope that the morning presentations to bring home the impact OCF has made in the past 21 years, but also to share how much more is needed to address the social problems facing Oxfordshire, some of which are happening right on our doorsteps, but are hidden by an appearance of great wealth.
If you are a representative of a trust or foundation and would be interested in attending, please get in touch. We would also be interested to talk to professional advisors such as private client solicitors, accountants, financial advisors or wealth managers who might like to accompany clients to this exclusive event.
