Our next Reciprocate event will be a thought-provoking reception hosted by Thames Valley Police at their local headquarters on Thursday 20th October from 6 to 8pm. Members will have the chance to hear from the frontline about issues affecting the local community.
Reciprocate, which is hosted by OCF, aims to help Oxfordshire’s business community become more strategic in their thinking about community engagement, and realise their good intentions through the power of many. The Reciprocate group of businesses are committed to sharing ideas, pooling resources, collaborating on projects, providing relevant information and driving responsible behaviour.
The Thames Valley Police event will be the chance for members of Reciprocate to:
- Catch up with other members from responsibly minded businesses, and find out what proactive community projects they could be getting involved with
- Understand more about local challenges to communities and policing, and what the companies and their staff could do to help
- Gain insights into cybercrime that could help protect their businesses.
There will also be a demo of some of the police force’s vehicles and other kit, and the chance to sign up for a ‘ride-along’ – an evening spent shadowing police officers to find out about their daily work and challenges. Members are invited to bring a guest – either a colleague from their company, or a business contact from another organisation that might be interested in joining Reciprocate.
Reciprocate currently has 47 member businesses, including Unipart, Allen Associates, Freeths, Taylor & Francis and Oxford Bus Company. Membership is free for businesses until March 2017, after which there is a small cost of £350 per year.
