OCF’s top ten stories of 2019
We wish all of our supporters and partners a very happy and restful Christmas. Before we close for the holidays, here are our highlights of 2019!
The Eden Project Communities Big Lunch came to Banbury on a very sunny Saturday in late May. Lots of smaller community and street based lunches had already been held and by joining the Big Lunch they were able to scale up, create a bigger event and bring the whole town together.
The Age Friendly Banbury partnership has just learnt it has not been successful in bidding for Phase 2 funding from the DCMS and Big Lottery Place Based Social Action programme. Nonetheless, partners remain determined to continue the positive steps started.

Suzy will be taking forward OCF’s third strategic programme: convening charities, public bodies, businesses and individuals interested in making a difference to educational inequality in the county.
On Wednesday over 100 people attended the launch of the new Age Friendly Banbury partnership at Banbury Town Hall. They were invited to share their views and ideas about what the town is like as a place to grow old – and gave overwhelming support for the project.
Banbury needs you – to help ensure the town is doing the best it can for older people. A special launch event takes place next Wednesday, June 20, open to everybody interested in helping Banbury become one of Britain’s first age-friendly towns.
OCF is at the heart of a new Banbury partnership that has received seed funding from the Placed Based Social Action programme, initiated by the Big Lottery Fund and Department of Digital, Culture Media and Sport (DCMS).
