Oxford Gives is a live crowdfunding event which takes place annually in support of Oxfordshire charities. Since 2007, it has raised over £300,000 at 13 events for 51 charities. It is all about coming together to raise money for causes that matter to you. The Funding Network (TFN) has been running live crowdfunding events for almost 20 years. This year, Oxford Gives is being held online in partnership with Oxfordshire Community Foundation and with the support of dedicated local volunteers.
The last 18 months have shown us just how vital small, local charities are. Oxford Gives 2021 will be supporting Ark-T Centre, People, Place and Participation, on behalf of OX4 Food Crew Partnership, and Be Free Young Carers. At the online event, you will hear five minute pitches from these three local charities, followed by your questions. The audience will then have the chance to pledge their support – whether it’s £5 or £500 – to help reach our target of £5,000 for each charity. You’ll hear inspiring stories and have the opportunity to make a real difference, whatever your budget.
Ark-T are planning to bring people and communities together for a regular day of workshops and drop in sessions tailored by and for all members of local families. The OX4 Food Crew is a partnership between three established organisations and three brand new grassroot enterprises in OX4. They are coming together to tackle the high levels of food poverty and food inequality in the area. Be Free Young Carers works with young carers aged 8 to 24 across the South Oxfordshire and Vale area. Their collaborative theatre production project will raise awareness of young carers in Oxfordshire and give the audience an insight into their lives and impact.
