Amounts available: £500 – £10,000

Max group annual income: No limit

Type of cost: Capital expenditure – such as equipment; project costs for new initiatives or the enhancement of existing initiatives; core costs, including staff salaries

Closing date: Thursday 6th October 2022

Background

BOB ICB – Oxfordshire is looking for projects to raise awareness of cancer symptoms; promote earlier presentation of patients to GPs surgeries with concerns about possible symptoms; and increase the number of presentations of patients, from the preferred areas and beneficiary groups, to NHS cancer screening (specifically breast, cervical and bowel cancer screening programs).

Projects should be focused on ‘high-risk’ groups within local communities, particularly older people, women, and those with underlying health conditions.

Creativity and innovation are encouraged and BOB ICB – Oxfordshire is keen that projects should provide a learning experience, leading to a better understanding about the way in which the expertise of local groups can achieve deeper reach into underrepresented communities. Projects might include health educational initiatives, outreach activity, communication and breaking down language/cultural barriers, or any other additional service/support that might improve cancer outcomes for communities in the defined areas.

Priority will be given to organisations who incorporate collaborative working with NHS staff in their application, ideally accessing support/advice from clinical experts. OCF can put you in touch with the relevant clinical staff.
