Oxfordshire 2040 and Generation Z: Are education providers and young people set for the ‘jobs of tomorrow’?
Thursday 25 April, 2019 @ 8:00 am - 11:00 am
Free
This event by Oxfordshire Local Enterprise Partnership (OxLEP) will bring together businesspeople, headteachers and chairs of governors to discuss whether school students are equipped for the jobs of the future.
It will include the presentation of OxLEP’s Local Industrial Strategy, and perspectives from an OFSTED inspector on the new careers guidance framework.
The agenda will be as follows:
8.00-10.00am: Breakfast and panel session/Q&A in The Orangery
10.00-11.00am: Presentation of Local Industrial Strategy in the Spencer Churchill Room
The presentation will be followed by a Reciprocate ‘human library’, which is the chance for business people to enthuse secondary school students about their industry. Small groups of students will rotate around the room and speak to companies on a 121 basis about what they do and what sorts of skills they need. This could lead to rewarding work experience opportunities for the students, and a chance for businesses to shape the workforce of the future.
