OCF Fortnightly Webinar: addressing the digital deficit to combat isolation
Wednesday 10 June, 2020 @ 2:00 pm - 2:45 pm
Free
OCF’s fortnightly webinar is taking place on Zoom every other Wednesday at 2pm.
Join us for our next fortnightly webinar on Wednesday 10th June at 2pm, where we will be discussing the potential of technology to make people feel less isolated.
What lessons can we learn from the COVID-19 pandemic, where people have turned to digital solutions to stay connected in an unprecedented way?
High Sheriff of Oxfordshire Amanda Ponsonby will be joined by a discussion panel:
- Penny Thewlis, CEO, Age UK Oxfordshire
- Tim Tarby-Donald, Director, Visit Banbury CIC
- Keith Davies, Volunteer Manager, Citizens Advice North Oxon
- Richard Pantlin, COVID Recovery Planning Consultant, Oxfordshire County Council.
Several of our panellists were involved in the Age Friendly Banbury Big Lunch on Saturday, which brought together older people with their community. Due to lockdown restrictions the event was run online this year.

If you are already familiar with Zoom, you will know this is a reliable and interactive space to meet online. The weblink above will take you to the meeting room. There are no restrictions on which browser you use to join, and the platform works via mobile if you’re on the go. You will arrive on mute and with your screens off.
It should all be straightforward, but an OCF host will be online 10 minutes in advance in case you want to test things out. The webinar will also be recorded for those who can’t attend and a link to the recording will be available.
