Generations Working Together: A seminar for leaders in Oxfordshire
Monday 15 October, 2018 @ 10:30 am - 3:00 pm
FreeBy invitation only
Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is hosting this important strategic event: a short seminar looking at the potential of intergenerational work in Oxfordshire. Charity leaders and thought leaders have been invited to join the session.
As demonstrated by OCF’s recent research report Oxfordshire Uncovered, there are significant social and educational disadvantages for some younger people locally, and for many, as they grow older, later life may become a period of isolation and loneliness. We are committed to finding solutions and working in partnership with others who share our strategic vision to join up the dots – and enable systemic change that will prevent the current challenges and counter disadvantage.
The purpose of this event is to:
- Highlight the challenges faced by both younger and older people in Oxfordshire
- Showcase examples of best practice in intergenerational work, both on our doorstep and around the UK
- Share ideas for how we might work together to develop a plan for Oxfordshire as a place where generations work together and support one another.
Lunch will be provided by Full Circle, Oxfordshire’s intergenerational charity, which matches older volunteers with children and young people in school, for company, fun and support.
By invitation only
