Cancer in the Workplace Workshop at Maggie’s Oxford
Tuesday 4 June, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am
Free
Maggie’s Oxford is offering a free workshop for employers to help them better support staff with a cancer diagnosis. The session on 4th June 2019 will help companies manage the situation sensitively and ethically.
There are over 500,000 people with cancer working across the UK. This figure is expected to double by 2030 as more people survive a diagnosis of cancer. In seeking to return to work, employees, their managers and colleagues each face different and complex challenges that can have a significant impact in the workplace.
Maggie’s Oxford offers an information session for line-managers and members of HR teams covering the experiences and needs of people with cancer in the workplace. It will also touch on the range of information and support available at Maggie’s.
Maggie’s can offer a free space for you or anyone in your team that would benefit from the session to:
- Understand the emotional, physical and psychological needs of employees with cancer
- Approach these situations with knowledge, empathy and understanding by providing you with insights and management strategies
- Create the right framework to manage employees with cancer
The next session at Maggie’s is on Tuesday 4th June from 8.30am to 10am, run by a member of the centre’s professional team. Maggie’s can also offer bespoke sessions at your workplace for larger groups.
