Cancer in the Workplace Workshop at Maggie’s Oxford
Tuesday 24 September, 2019 @ 8:30 am - 10:00 am

Cancer in the Workplace Workshop – Supporting Employers and Employees. Maggie’s Oxford is offering a free workshop for employers to help them better support staff with a cancer diagnosis. The session on 24th September 2019 will help companies manage the situation sensitively and ethically.
Maggie’s Oxford offers free practical, emotional and social support for people with cancer and their families and friends. Their purpose-built Centre in the grounds of the Churchill Hospital in Headington is a warm and welcoming place where anyone affected by cancer can access friendly and professional support on a drop-in basis, completely free of charge.
There are over 500,000 people with cancer working across the UK. This figure is expected to double by 2030 as more people survive a diagnosis of cancer. In seeking to return to work, employees, their managers and colleagues each face different and complex challenges that can have significant impact in the workplace.
Their free session will help you and your team to:
- Understand the emotional, physical and psychological needs of employees with cancer
- Approach these situations with knowledge, empathy and understanding by providing you with insights and management strategies
- Create the right framework to manage employees with cancer
Maggie’s can offer a free space for you or anyone in your team that would benefit from the session.
The next session at Maggie’s is on Tuesday 24th September from 8.30am to 10am, run by a member of the centre’s professional team. Maggie’s can also offer bespoke sessions at your workplace for larger groups.
