OCF names Adrian Sell as Interim CEO
Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) is pleased to announce the appointment of Adrian Sell as Interim CEO effective from 1st July 2020 through to the end of the year.
Maggie’s Oxford
Maggie’s Oxford provides free cancer support and information in its purpose-built centre in the grounds of the Churchill Hospital. Their Support Specialists, Psychologists and Benefits Advisors are there for anyone with cancer and their families and friends.
Jayne Woodley to leave OCF at end of June 2020
After 10 years of leadership that have seen the transformation of Oxfordshire Community Foundation (OCF) from grant maker to an organisation focused on strategic programmes, CEO Jayne Woodley has decided it is time to seek out a new challenge.
The Gatehouse
The Gatehouse is a community drop-in centre offering free support services for adults who are homeless, vulnerably housed, on low income and looking for company and community. They offer a free cafe six times a week, therapeutic workshops and a one-to-one casework team.
Active Oxfordshire calls on local community to take on 26-minute challenge on 26th May
Local charity Active Oxfordshire is promoting the ‘Mayathon’ challenge, which encourages people to take on 26 minutes of activity every day throughout May, ending with a ‘Finish Line Finale’ on 26th May at 2pm. Sponsorship funds are being raised towards OCF’s Community Resilience Fund.
Bicester Good Neighbour Scheme (BGNS)
Bicester Good Neighbour Scheme befriends old and very vulnerable people in Bicester and the surrounding area. With 80 clients and 65 volunteers, the group understands the importance of social contact and practical support for people who feel particularly isolated by frailty or disability.

Services include food parcel delivery, online exercise and arts classes, and printed flyers signposting people without internet access to the facilities available.
Step Change Fund celebrates bumper year of infrastructure funding that will help charities recover stronger
Donors to the Step Change Fund were to gather on 7th May to hear from Project Managers and charity leaders about the impact of their philanthropy. Instead, an annual review and impact summary celebrate the achievements of the fund.
Growing Minds early years partnership adapts to COVID-19
Growing Minds, the collaborative project convened by OCF to tackle educational inequality, has had to adapt quickly to the circumstances imposed by the coronavirus outbreak. Partners are moving some elements of the project online, whilst other aspects have become more important than ever in the current context.
Aldates Community Transformation (ACT)
ACT is a small charity in Oxford providing housing and support for people at the margins of society: homeless people, ex-offenders, and people struggling with mental health. Their outreach work centres on food, in particular weekly communal meals.
